The lines are drawn and borders are set.  These are lines, drawn by the crisis in Europe and the world, between the possessed and the dispossessed, the poor and the rich. The time to stand right in the middle and sit on the fence is over. One has to be either on one side or the other.  The nonsense that we are the children of the same nation, under one flag, walking on the same streets as equals has been exposed with this crisis. This is now the struggle between the hungry and full.

IRISH MEPs yesterday rounded on the EU’s energy commissioner, Guenther Oettinger from Germany

IT reports: IRISH MEPs yesterday rounded on the EU’s energy commissioner, Guenther Oettinger from Germany, for reportedly suggesting that the flags of countries with excessive deficits should fly at half-mast in front of EU buildings....

What a joke, these highly paid useless MEPs are fighting over flags... But then Irish Times should remind our MEPs the Lisbon Treaty and how they sold it to the nation the second time: "Solidarity... Ireland for Europe, Europe for Ireland"... Well MEP are you embarressed?
